The Department of Technology, Management and Budget (DTMB) supports the business operations of state agencies through a variety of services, including building management and maintenance, information technology, centralized contracting and procurement, budget and financial management, space planning and leasing, construction management, motor vehicle fleet operations, and oversight of the state retirement systems.
DTMB is seeking a strategic and dynamic Director of Performance, Audit, and Communications Services to join our senior management team. In this critical leadership role, you will collaborate with DTMB leadership to shape the department’s vision, culture, and operational strategy. You will drive alignment across the organization, ensuring that initiatives are strategically prioritized and effectively executed.

- Serve as a key member of DTMB’s senior leadership team, contributing to the department’s mission, policies, strategic plans, and organizational structure.
- Provide leadership and oversight of centralized internal operations for a department of more than 2,800 employees, delivering administrative services across all State of Michigan departments.
- Direct and oversee critical internal programs, including the offices of Communications, Performance Management, and Audit & Internal Compliance.
- Lead the implementation of DTMB’s strategic plan, ensuring policies, standards, and processes support organizational goals.
- Develop and execute audit and risk management strategies to enhance accountability and compliance across the department.
- Foster a culture of performance excellence and continuous improvement through data-driven decision-making and strategic communication.
- Collaborate with senior department leaders to enhance operational efficiency, transparency, and effectiveness.
