Job Description
The State Budget Office (SBO) is responsible for developing the governor’s Executive Budget recommendation, presenting budget recommendations to the Legislature, and implementing the approved budget signed by the governor. SBO also houses the Office of Financial Management (OFM), Statewide Integrated Governmental Management Applications (SIGMA) Operations and Support, Office of Internal Audit Services (OIAS), and Center for Educational Performance and Information (CEPI).
OIAS provides internal audit services to executive branch departments and agencies of Michigan State government and is looking to fill the OIAS director position. Learn more at www.Michigan.gov/budget .
The OIAS director also serves as the State's Chief Audit Executive. As one of the key leadership positions within the State Budget Office, the OIAS Director has regular direct interaction with the executive office, leadership of executive branch department and agencies, and the Office of Auditor General.

Office location is Lansing, MI, however, this position may work a hybrid work option (combination of remote/in-office) which requires one day working on-site at the official workstation with the potential of up to four days remote work per week.
Candidates should confirm work location and schedule at the time of interview. Work must be performed in the state of Michigan. If you currently reside outside of Michigan, you must relocate to Michigan to perform the duties of this position. Relocation expenses are not reimbursed.

Education
Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.
Experience
Two years of professional, managerial experience.
Note: Experience is considered professional if the job required a bachelor's degree.

- Providing leadership, oversight, and direction to OIAS staff iin providing internal audit services to executive branch departments and agencies.
- Interpretation of State policies and procedures; application of policies and procedures to existing circumstances; advice and counsel to user agencies; daily operations of OIAS, including direct supervision of OIAS division directors; and other routine OIAS administrative matters.
