Budget Development Offices conduct budget development and implementation activities through five individual offices, each having a primary responsibility for specific budget areas. We are currently looking to fill the Health Services Division Director position within the Office of Health and Human Services (OHHS).
This position is responsible for the management and direction of the Division of Health Services within OHHS. The division is responsible for policy analysis and budget development in assigned areas, including Medicaid, Behavioral Health, Public Health, and Aging Services.
The Health Services Division Director coordinates and directs the work of budget analysts withing the office in presenting recommendations to the State Budget Office management and to the Governor relating to the development and presentation of the annual Executive Budget. The position also directs staff activities to implement the budget upon enactment.

Office location is Lansing, MI, however, this position may work a hybrid work option (combination of remote/in-office) which requires two days working on-site at the official workstation with the potential of up to three days remote work per week.
Candidates should confirm work location and schedule at the time of interview. Work must be performed in the state of Michigan. If you currently reside outside of Michigan, you must relocate to Michigan to perform the duties of this position. Relocation expenses are not reimbursed.
EducationPossession of a bachelor's degree in any major.

Experience
Two years of experience as a professional manager or program/staff specialist, or equivalent experience.
Note: Experience is considered professional if the job required a bachelor's degree.
Education level typically acquired through completion of high school and three years of safety and regulatory or law enforcement experience at the 14 level; or, two years of safety and regulatory or law enforcement experience at the 15 level, may be substituted for the education and experience requirements
