EQA 9-P11:
This position contributes to the implementation of the Water Resources Division’s (WRD) Coastal Management Program Unit (CMPU) by serving as the point of contact for the Coastal Public Access focus area. This position is responsible for assessing the coastal public access needs, identifying priorities for creating and enhancing public access to coastal areas; managing grants unique to the public access focus area; and forming and maintaining partnerships with local, state, and regional coastal stewardship initiatives. This position contributes to reports, assessments, strategies, and other requirements associated with the federal Coastal Management Program (CMP) grant award. Duties require interaction with other divisions; local, regional, state, and federal agencies; and the general public.

As the CMP’s Public Access Coordinator, this position is a recognized resource on federal requirements for the CMP, specifically the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), State Historic Preservation Act, federal and state threatened and endangered species regulations, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and other state resource management program requirements to ensure compliance for low-cost construction projects (e.g., Section 306A of the NEPA). This position is also responsible for assessing coastal public access needs; identifying priorities for creating and enhancing public access to coastal areas; managing coastal grants unique to the respective focus area; and forming and maintaining partnerships with local, state, and regional coastal stewardship initiatives with fostering the appreciation of natural, cultural, and historic resources. This position contributes to reports, assessments, strategies, and other requirements associated with the federal Coastal Zone Management (CZM) grant award. Duties require interaction with other Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) divisions, local and state agencies, and the general public.

Required Education And Experience
Education
Possession of a bachelor's degree in the biological sciences, engineering, environmental studies and sustainability, physical sciences, resource development, or resource management.
OR
Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major with at least 30 semester (45 term) credits in one or a combination of the following: biochemistry, biology, botany, chemistry, crop and soil science, ecology, engineering, environmental health, environmental science, environmental studies and sustainability, forest management, geology, meteorology, microbiology, physics, remote sensing, resource development, resource management, toxicology, or zoology.
Experience
Environmental Quality Analyst 9

Environmental Quality Analyst 10
One year of professional experience equivalent to an Environmental Quality Analyst 9.
Environmental Quality Analyst P11
Two years of professional experience equivalent to an Environmental Quality Analyst including one year equivalent to an Environmental Quality Analyst 10.
Environmental Quality Analyst 12
Three years of professional experience equivalent to an Environmental Quality Analyst, including one year equivalent to an Environmental Quality Analyst P11.
