Job Summary

This position exists to direct and manage grant administration for federal Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) funded grants and special projects. This position has oversight of VAWA requirements for state administrators and manages federal applications, reporting, and special requirements. This position manages and provides technical assistance to VAWA funded grantees on VAWA program purpose area activities. This position works closely with OJP crime victim grant staff (CVS), grantees, state coalition partners, criminal justice stakeholders, and other parties as directed. This position works closely with the CVS Grants Director on VAWA RFP processes and statewide planning.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Three* years of experience working with grant/contract administration and those impacted by crime victimization, victim services and community resources with criminal justice or related field
  • Experience in federal Violence Against Women Act grant management including application, project development and management, budget development, reporting.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and underserved communities

Those that meet the above qualifications will be further evaluated on:

  • Experience providing technical assistance and training. 
  • Knowledge of basic accounting functions and the ability to understand revenue/expense reports and to interpret and analyze budgets.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, time-management, facilitation, and leadership skills.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary team of criminal justice professionals and crime victim service agency partners in Violence Against Women Act required planning and activities.
  • Skills in building and maintaining working relationships among professional colleagues, community stakeholders, collaborative partners, and grantees.
  • Tracking reports and submissions to ensure compliance and program progress

*Bachelors degree or higher may substitute for one year of required experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to assess the needs of crime victims and recommend program improvements and address gaps in community services.
  • Knowledge of the criminal justice systems and various areas of crime victim services (e.g., domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking).
  • Experience working with diverse populations in crime victim services areas, which may include victims of crime, law enforcement and/or crime victim service providers or other community organizations.

Physical Requirements

Requires occasionally moving and transporting such articles as file folders and small tools.  May need to maintain stationary position for long periods of time while carrying out job duties.
