Job Summary
Are you looking to make a difference in sustainability? We are seeking a fleet sustainability specialist to help advance the mission, goals, and objectives of the Office of Enterprise Sustainability (OES).
The primary role of this new position is to provide technical assistance to agencies to advance greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction in the State's fleet. You will work with functional leaders in fleets and buildings and fleet users to plan, communicate, and implement fleet electrification and lower carbon fuels strategies.
You will support OES and agencies in other areas, such as reducing water, energy, and GHG intensity of buildings and operations. You will also partner and collaborate with analysts and mangers and support the tracking and development of key performance indicators and data tools to support agencies and OES.

To promote a culture of flexibility, we offer staff a hybrid work environment that varies by team, position, and business needs. This position will require in-office work at least one (1) day per month. With a telework arrangement, additional onsite attendance may be required for team meetings from time to time or as requested by management to meet business needs. Completion of a telework agreement will be required.
In addition, traveling of up to 5% will be necessary to meet with stakeholders, partners, and/or customers at their preferred location(s).
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
The following qualifications are required of all applicants seeking consideration for this position. Only applicants whose application materials clearly demonstrate fulfillment of each of these minimum qualifications will be considered for the position:

One (1) year of direct experience OR three (3) years of support experience in fleet management, energy efficiency and conservation techniques, fleet electrification, energy management systems, or related.
- A Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, sustainability management, political science, economics, electrical or mechanical engineering, construction management, business, or closely related discipline may be substituted for one (1) year of experience as described. An Associate's degree in the disciplines provided may be substituted for six (6) months of experience.
- Knowledge of fleet operations, electric vehicles, fleet electrification, electric vehicle charging equipment, and similar.
- Knowledge of EVSE standards and best practices in installation, ownership, leasing, and O&M.
- Knowledge of biofuels and biofuels technologies.
Applicants who meet the above requirements will be further evaluated based on the following:
- Knowledge of best practices in fleet operations and key performance indicators to implement fleet best management practices.
- Demonstrated experience to perform data analysis on datasets relevant to fleet operations and energy, including statistical analysis.
- Ability to analyze technical reports and scientific research related to sustainability activities and synthesize information into content accessible to all.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Demonstrated experience in presenting complex information, including data analysis and engineering or relevant concepts, to non-technical audiences.
- Interpersonal and human relation skills to effectively relate to and work with a wide variety of individuals.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of organizations providing opportunities for best practices sharing across fleet entities, and resources available through other parties to assist in fleet electrification.
- Ability to lead projects and coordinate programs.
- Ability to deal with ambiguity as problems encountered may not have any existing and/or clearly defined solutions or precedence.
- Creative problem-solving, innovative approaches, and critical thinking.
- Experience with collecting, analyzing, interpreting complex and technical data, and presenting interpretations with data visualizations to decision-makers.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), along with telecommunications programs and software (e.g., Teams, Webex, or Zoom) for performing duties.
- Proficiency performing queries in SQL databases, use of macros in Excel, and use of PowerBI and the power automate platform.
- Experience with messaging around sustainability topics.
- Champion change by continuously seeking and examining best practices.
