Job Summary
As a Security Analyst, you will analyze, develop, and implement information security administrative and technical strategies and mechanisms to meet the security standards applicable to the Department of Human Services (DHS) and MNsure. The position will provide assistance for agency wide information security and technical projects that promote the protection of the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the agency's data security, privacy and information resources. The position will provide assistance in developing, implementing and maintaining administrative procedures, physical safeguards, technical security services, technical security mechanisms to meet various compliance requirements of the State of Minnesota (MNIT), and the overall program building blocks of NIST, HIPAA, IRS 1075, CJIS and other security compliance mandates. You will coordinate and facilitate information security audits, compliance activities and conduct system and procedural risk analyses with an information security focus for mainframe, network, internet, intranet, extranet and related web based technologies, and advise and recommend appropriate approaches for minimizing or eliminating risks. This position will focus on governance, risk, and compliance activities.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience supporting LAN/WAN technologies including TCP/IP.
- Understanding of regulatory requirements that have a direct relationship to information security (e.g., NIST, IRS 1075, HIPAA, PCI, MARSE, etc.).
- Experience with a variety of business applications such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access), Microsoft Project, and Visio.
- Experience with Project Management.
- Ability to deliver effective verbal or written messages that facilitate a mutual understanding on both parties.
- Customer service skills that include active listening, empathy, and problem-solving.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of the Information Security Common Body of Knowledge and other widely accepted information security principles.
- Knowledge and experience administering mainframe, LAN or network information security systems or related experience.
- Knowledge of and the ability to apply web based security and/or related e-business security principles.
- Certification in Information Security (Certified Information Systems Security Professional - CISSP) desired. Other relevant industry accepted certifications such as CISA, MSCE, BCP would be considered beneficial in execution of security job responsibilities.
