The Missouri Department of Mental Health in Higginsville is currently recruiting to fill Support Care Assistant positions. This is entry-level direct care work involving the care and treatment of individuals with developmental disabilities, mental illness, physical disabilities, and/or geriatric care.

In this position you will help residents with daily activities like going to events and Dr appointments, help prepare meals, clean living areas, help with grocery shopping, general hygiene, assist individuals with mobility (in and out of wheelchair, bath, etc as needed) keep residents on their daily schedule.

No experience is necessary with this position. We'll train you!
Knowledge of the general care and treatment of individuals, including basic nursing, first aid and emergency treatments a plus, but not required. We will provide the necessary training on sight. Ability to perform first aid and emergency treatments as instructed.
Minimum Qualifications: Must be 18 years old.
Possession of a high school diploma or proof of high school equivalency from accredited school.
Possess a valid driver's license (to drive a state vehicle)
Submit to a state background screening.
Typical shifts available are 6am-6pm or 6pm-6am.
Skills Needed: Maintain a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment for individuals; understand and follow directions; accurately report and record observations; accept and adapt to changes in assignments, methods, and policies; establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, staff, supervisors, and the general public, exercise good judgment and discretion in the performance of job duties.
