Job Description:
Wage may be commensurate with years of nursing experience. Hiring range is $38.854/hour to $54.547/hour. Additional $3/hour facility differential for hours worked.
The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) employs nearly 2,300 team members operating nine institutions statewide, which house approximately 5,200 inmates. The department's focus includes inmate programming and education, physical and behavioral health care, re-entry services, and community programs, and is accredited by the American Correctional Association (ACA). DUTIES: Supervises nursing and direct care staff in the delivery of nursing services within a correctional facility. Consults with clinical staff in coordinating individual inmate patient care treatment plans. Consult with Behavioral Health Nursing Director or other clinical staff to identify factors and appropriate strategies to resolve performance gap. Coordinate staffing. Resolves conflicts between patients and employees as well as personnel related problems. Directly supervise Registered Nurses, and/or Licensed Practical Nurses on assigned shift and/or may supervise direct care professionals. Coach and support newer teammates as needed. Remains current with Nebraska RN Licensure and annual training to ensure competency and professionalism in the work environment. Administers nursing service activities. Completes performance evaluations on subordinate nursing service employees. Collect, review, and analyze clinical care performance improvement data to identify performance gaps. Performs nursing tasks in emergencies.
Requirements/Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: A current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Nebraska or authority based on the Nurse Licensure Compact to

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in assigning, reviewing, leading, or supervising the work of others.
Other: Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. with assistance. Must submit to background security check. Applicants accepting a job offer must
