Job Description
You will join our Legal team supporting our Public Records and Operations Team Attorneys.

This position performs the essential role of providing legal assistance to the agency attorneys providing legal support to the agency's Public Records team as well as the agency's other Operational needs. This position will be part of the team responsible for agency-wide functions relating to public record requests; discovery and subpoena compliance; research requests; and records retention and destruction. Under the coordination of the Records Officer, this position will assist the attorneys on the Operations team in gathering, identifying, redacting, reviewing, and producing records pursuant to public record requests and litigation discovery. This involves researching applicable laws to know whether records contain information that is confidential or, otherwise, protected from disclosure. This position needs to be able to understand why certain actions are necessary and apply critical legal thinking throughout. In addition to supporting the agency's Public Records team, this position will also perform other paralegal duties as assigned by the lead attorney for the Operations Legal Team to include legal assistance to agency attorneys in areas such as Contract, Collection, and Employment law.
Requirements/ Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Associate's degree in Paralegal Studies from an American Bar Association approved program at an accredited college or successful completion of a program at an American Bar Association approved paralegal institute. Experience may be substituted for education on a year for year basis
Preferred Qualifications: Working knowledge/experience with electronic filing of court documents, and proficiency in MS Office Suite and Adobe.

Effective decision making and problem-solving skills; ability to maintain a strict level of confidentiality; demonstrate a strong attention to detail and accuracy; exhibit excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to meet time-sensitive deadlines in a fast-paced environment; and must be highly organized and work well under pressure.
