Pay range is $26.744 - $39.424 per hour. The pay rate may be commensurate with education and/or experience within fiscal constraints if approved.
JOB DUTIES:
- Nebraska Public Transit is a lifeline for rural communities, providing access to healthcare, education, employment, and more. Each dollar invested generates about four dollars in economic returns, highlighting our crucial role in Nebraska's prosperity.
- This position has an integral role not just in preserving but also in enhancing the Nebraska State Transit Program. As the Transit Procurement Coordinator, this position is responsible for the procurement of Public Transit equipment and services, including but not limited to, writing, editing, and oversight of Transit Vehicle/Equipment purchasing, specifications, contracts, and inspections. Ensure all required federal procurement compliance requirements are met and documented.
- In addition, this position is responsible for the preparation and maintenance of the NDOT Federal Asset Inventory, NDOT Transit Procurement Guidance, Safety Plans, Transit Asset Management Plan, and National Transit Database reporting for areas relating to Federal Assets. In addition, an understanding of Federal and State policies is vital to the success of this position.
- Excellent customer service will be exercised to establish and maintain effective, professional working relationships with team members, other State and Local Agencies, FTA, Vendors, and Public Transit subrecipients across the state.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements / Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in urban and regional planning, transportation planning, engineering technology, business, data science, physical sciences, geographic information systems, or a related field plus three years of related experience. Experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, contract administration, or other appropriate curriculum, plus two years of significantly related work experience, or a combination of education and experience equivalent to the above requirements. Experience can be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.
Other:
- Must have a valid driver’s license or ability to provide independent authorized transportation.
- Both in-state and occasional overnight travel is required.
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES:
- Demonstrated knowledge/experience with MS Office, specifically Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of Federal and State Regulations, and grant management.
- Ability to manage time and competing priorities.
- Learn and apply the principles and concepts of specific agency programs, policies, and operating details to managing grant-funded programs.
- Effectively communicate to explain complex information to various audiences.
