The Nevada Supreme Court is seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure Manager to spearhead a major modernization initiative, overseeing the transition from Executive Branch IT-managed services to a fully autonomous, self-determined IT infrastructure.
In this critical leadership role, you will play a pivotal part in executing our cloud-first strategy. This includes migrating on-premises systems to secure, scalable cloud platforms, integrating hybrid infrastructure, and building an autonomous, forward-thinking IT environment designed to support the evolving needs of the judicial system.

This position can be filled in Carson City or Las Vegas. The successful candidate will regularly travel between offices to build collaborative working relationships and effectively manage their team. We offer flexible scheduling.
Key Responsibilities:
Infrastructure Autonomy & Transition Management• Lead the transition away from Executive Branch IT-provided services, including networking, systems, and identity management.
• Design and implement a self-governed IT infrastructure to meet the Supreme Court’s operational and infrastructure needs.
• Replace on-prem services with internal or cloud-based alternatives to ensure a seamless and secure technology environment.
Cloud Strategy & Transformation
• Champion and implement a cloud-first strategy, migrating legacy on-prem systems to modern, cloud-hosted platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS).
• Design, deploy, and support scalable hybrid cloud environments.
• Recommend and implement cloud-native tools that improve performance, security, and efficiency.
Security & Compliance
• Develop and maintain robust cybersecurity and disaster recovery protocols across all environments.
• Ensure compliance with court policies and IT governance best practices, especially in hybrid and cloud environments.
Project & Budget Management
• Lead cross-functional teams through cloud migration and infrastructure initiatives.
• Manage IT budgets, focusing on cost-effective cloud services and long-term sustainability.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
• Supervise, mentor, and support IT staff in infrastructure, cloud operations, and system administration.
• Facilitate team training and development in modern cloud technologies.
• Serve as a liaison between technical teams and stakeholders, translating court needs into IT strategies.
Qualifications:
Required Skills & Experience
- Demonstrated success in migrating enterprise systems from on-prem to cloud platforms.
- Expertise in cloud-first architecture, hybrid infrastructure, and enterprise cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), virtualization, and modern cloud security frameworks.
- Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills including at least two years of experience in an IT management role.
- Experience managing transitions from centralized/shared government IT services (e.g., Executive Branch IT) to self-managed infrastructure is preferred.
