The Position
Administrative Assistants perform a broad variety of clerical, secretarial and administrative support duties in an assigned agency, program or other work unit within State government and the Nevada System of Higher Education.

You must respond to the minimum qualifications screening question to ensure that your application moves forward. Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.
This position will be in the Office of Workforce Innovation in Las Vegas. The incumbent will serve as an overall office coordinator by maintaining calendars; creating and maintaining spreadsheets and memorandums; creating project reports; ordering supplies and creating purchase order requests; making travel arrangements for staff and filing and other records maintenance. In addition, the incumbent will assist members of the public, both in-person and via phone, to guide them in their needs; assist with events, both in-person and virtual, by setting up venues, printing materials, tracking RSVPs, and attending to guests. Other duties include coordinating all board and subcommittee meetings for the Governor's Workforce Development Board and the NPWR Advisory Committee, and ensuring these are in compliance with Nevada state open meeting laws; and producing meeting minutes in accordance with Nevada open meeting laws. The ideal candidate will have great attention to detail, feel comfortable interacting with the public and other agencies, and have excellent Microsoft Office skills. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Graduation from high school or equivalent education and four years of progressively responsible relevant work experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: providing administrative/program support to professional staff and management; performing secretarial duties in support of a manager; coordinating communications between the manager, staff and program clientele; supervision of subordinate staff; researching information from internal and external sources; OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant III in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
