The Position
Administrative Services Officers function as business managers for a large division or major program area or facility, with responsibility for accounting, budgeting and business management of various services and operations.
Incumbents function as managers who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of subordinate supervisors; develop policies and procedures; and allocate staff and resources to accomplish goals and objectives.
This position is in Carson City, Nevada. The Administrative Services Officer 4 serves as a business manager overseeing accounting, budgeting, and fiscal management functions. This role will oversee the planning, organizing, and coordinating for program accounting activities, as well as developing and revising policies to ensure effective fiscal operations. Key responsibilities include preparing and reviewing financial reports, managing records, the development of the biennium budget, monitoring budgets and contracts to identify trends, resolving fiscal management issues and advising on alternative courses of action. Additionally, the ASO 4 will research and interpret Nevada regulations and statutes to ensure compliance and provide strategic recommendations to management. Typical work hours are Monday thru Friday from 8:00 am- 5:00pm. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, accounting, finance or a related field and seven years of professional experience in formulating, developing and analyzing agency budgets; fiscal management; and management of multiple business operations, two years of which were equivalent to an Administrative Services Officer III in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
Special Requirements
A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
A valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment.
