The Position
Management Analysts conduct a variety of studies, research and analysis of management and administrative areas such as budgeting and financial analysis; departmental operations; legislative analysis; management research; and statistical and informational analysis.
The Administrative Services Division (ASD) of the Department of Administration is recruiting for a Management Analyst 4 in Carson City. The division serves as the central fiscal agent of 70 budget accounts across a variety of state agencies. Clients are primarily Department of Administration agencies, elected officials, and other small state entities that do not have their own fiscal staff. The incumbent is tasked with supervising three Management Analyst III positions, managing personnel matters, maintaining appropriate work performance standards, hiring and disciplinary duties, and maintaining written procedures that comply with applicable internal control standards and operating systems. Additionally, the incumbent provides budget training and support to agency personnel or supervised staff, assists agencies in developing biennial budgets including input and revision to the Nevada Executive Budget System (NEBS), assists agencies with the strategic planning process including development of long and short range objectives, budget analysis, budget oversight, provides expertise and fiscal guidance to agencies for budget projections, completes federal grant reports and quarterly draws according to the federal guidelines, and completes year end Single Audit Reporting Forms within assigned timeframes.***THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE WITHOUT FURTHER NOTICE DEPENDING ON THE NUMBER OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, finance, social sciences, mathematics or related field and four years of professional experience in the research, development, evaluation or revision of programs, organizations, methods or procedures; OR Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, finance, social sciences, mathematics or related field and four years of professional experience which included budgeting, accounting, and/or economic or management analysis and projections; OR graduation from high school or equivalent education and six years of professional experience as described above; OR one year of experience as a Management Analyst III in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
Special Requirements
This position requires a State of Nevada/FBI fingerprint-based background check as a condition of appointment and as condition of continuing employment.
