Why does the job exist?
The Business Operations Specialist II will:
Print and mail all daily Child Support, LIHEAP, OMNICAID and Client Medical Travel warrants;
Print, obtain approvals, and mail out warrants on a daily basis;
Cross train in all aspects of the Business Operations Center (BOC).
How does it get done?
The Business Operations Specialist II is responsible for:
Ensuring all checks are processed and printed correctly, efficiently, taken for approvals, and mailed out at the end of each day;
Cross training in every aspect of the warehouse to maintain all business is completed in the BOC;
Daily USPS mail runs, inserting daily statements and checks, presorting and delivering to Post Office as well as remaining current and knowledgeable of USPS guidelines and cost saving measures as well as requirements specific to Health Care Authority (HCA) mailings;
Determining specific mailing needs/production requirements;
Prioritizing projects to meet specific deadlines;
Troubleshooting mail equipment malfunctions and handling maintenance/repair of warehouse printing equipment;
Utilizing computer skills proficiently;
Having extensive knowledge with modern, state of the art printing equipment/software, high volume mailing equipment/software, inserting equipment/software and shipping/receiving equipment /software;
Meeting federal-mandated deadlines for printing and mailing;
Scheduling jobs accordingly ensuring completion in an orderly fashion;
Meeting or exceeding urgent requests on short notice from various HCA Divisions.

Staff from other State of New Mexico Agencies.
Ideal Candidate
Health Care Authority (HCA) management and staff;
Staff from other State of New Mexico Agencies.
Minimum Qualification
High School diploma or Equivalency and two (2) years of experience in office administration, budgeting, purchasing, finance, accounting, auditing, cash management, and/or contract management. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling two (2) years may substitute for the required experience.
Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain valid driver's license.
Must obtain a Defensive driving certification.
Forklift Operations Certificate, or ability to achieve such within 90 days of employment.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending and reaching may be required. Must be able to lift and carry 65lbs or more.
