Why does the job exist?
The Business Operations Specialist III position exists to provide high-level administrative support for New Mexico Historic Sites Central Office in Santa Fe and to ensure the timely and efficient operations of the eight historic sites located across the state.
How does it get done?
The Business Operations Specialist III will be responsible for the division records and information management functions; will oversee accurate and timely execution of division finance operations (including those for all eight historic sites, those associated with Museum of New Mexico Foundation, and associated grants and contracts); will support processing of reports and documents at the request of the Division Director and senior leadership; will act as telecommunication liaison with other state/ federal agencies and outside vendors; ensures effective communication with all stakeholders including staff, donors, potential donors and key supporters; coordinates with Division leadership and DCA Communications staff on social media and promotional efforts between individual regions.

This job is done on behalf of the people of New Mexico to keep Historic Site operations moving forward and running smoothly. The job works closely with senior leadership within the Historic Sites Division and with the staff at the Administrative Services Division of the Department of Cultural Affairs.

Minimum Qualification
Associate degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or Accounting and two (2) years of directly related job experience in the areas of office administration, budgeting, purchasing, finance, accounting, auditing, cash management, and/or contract management. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling four (4) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
Employment Requirements
Employment is subject to a pre-employment background investigation and is conditional pending results. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment. Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License.
Working Conditions
This job is done in a office setting and requires extensive personal computer and telephone usage with extended periods of sitting. Must be able to lift 25lbs.
