Why does the job exist?
This position manages all administrative operations of the public health division, northwest region. This includes budget and finance management, facilities management, with oversight of staff who perform duties related to human resources, building maintenance and repair, inventory, vehicle fleet management, telecommunications management and resource and capital asset management.
How does it get done?
This position reports to the Administrative Operations Manager and is under the organizational structure of the Department of Health, Public Health Division, Northwest Region. This position will be responsible for providing detailed knowledge related to budget, fiscal management, procurement, auditing, property management, and oversight of human resources activities, vehicle management and maintaining accountability of fixed assets and annual inventory for the Public Health Division, Northwest Region. Ensuring that the Region's administrative support infrastructure is functioning with the necessary tools and available resources. This position supervises administrative support staff.

Minimum Qualification
Associate degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or Accounting and two (2) years of directly related job experience in the areas of budgeting, accounting, auditing, purchasing, cash management, and/or financial management. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling four (4) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment. Requires successful completion of Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act (HIPPA) and successful completion of Blood-borne pathogen training within 30 days of employment.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Lifting up to 50 pounds may be required. Services are provided in a clinic with diverse population, many who do not speak the English language. Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm. Travel to satellite offices, meetings, training sessions, and special events with the occasional overnight stay is required.
