Why does the job exist?
This position will be responsible for managing the Reimbursement Section by planning, setting, and achieving goals set forth in the Petroleum Storage Tank Regulations, the New Mexico Environment Department Strategic Plan, and the program planning documents.
How does it get done?
A Bachelor's degree in any field of study from an accredited college or university and six (6) years of professional level experience with a tactical impact directly related to the purpose of the position defined by the agency at the time of recruitment. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling ten (10) years may substitute for the required education and experience. A hiring agency will designate a portion of the required experience to include supervisory and/or specialized experience. Any required licensure, certification or registration shall be defined at the time of recruitment and will be in addition to the above requirements.
Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive a Defensive Driving Course certificate as a condition of continued employment.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending and reaching may be required.

- Manage and monitor the Corrective Action Fund
- Coordinate Request for Proposals, contract management and administration, and database and records management data entry
- Administer and manage a cost recovery program which includes maintaining the appropriate records
- Plan, direct, and implement the Reimbursement Section duties, projects, and activities manager
- Supervise and direct the work of financial and administrative employees
- Oversee the procurement of professional services using the Request for Proposals process and contract management in accordance with applicable regulations
- Coordinate activities and projects
- Provide open communication and collaboration between the Bureau's programs and its many diverse constituencies

- Occasional contact with external Federal, State and Local regulatory bodies as well as contractors and environmental not for profit organizations
