Why does the job exist?
This position provides critical oversight and monitoring of the performance of domestic violence survivor service programs and domestic violence offender treatment and intervention programs, with critical attention to the repercussions of the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency response. This position monitors COVID-19 testing programs and the impact of the public health emergency on survivors through program participant surveys, participant and service data collected through monthly reporting, and special surveys delivered to service providers and program participants. This position assists the Domestic Violence Unit in identifying issues, patterns, and trends that impact the level or quality of services available to domestic violence survivors, their dependents, and offenders to help ensure public safety and quality services. This position designs data projects and collection tools and use established reports and surveys to identify issues, problems, successes, and trends related to the public health emergency, domestic violence survivor services, and offender treatment programs.
How does it get done?
- Provide direct supervision to assigned staff and lead the local county office management team;
- Review, assign and monitor in-home, voluntary services cases designed to address the safety needs of the child and enhance child and family well-being;
- Review and approve units work to ensure the provision of quality family centered services;
- Review practice and work collaboratively with internal and external partners to ensure the provision of quality services so as to achieve the goals of safety, permanency and well-being for children and families served by the agency.
Who are the customers?
Residents of New Mexico who are victims / survivors and perpetrators of domestic violence, who are served through 30 domestic violence victim / survivor service providers and 35 domestic violence offender treatment and intervention programs, including in tribal communities.
Ideal Candidate
Minimum Qualification
Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Guidance and Counseling, Education, Sociology, Criminal Justice, Criminology, and / or Family Studies / Services and four (4) years of any combination of experience including working with communities, working on health or social service related matters, social work / case management experience, behavioral health, and / or health care. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and / or direct experience in this occupation totaling eight (8) years may substitute for the required education and experience.

Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment. Pre-employment background investigation is required and is conditional pending results.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office setting : late hours and weekends work may be required. Will be exposed to regular periods of video display terminal and keyboard usage and stressful situations. Travel may be required. Incumbent will work under stress and frequent time constraints.
