Why does the job exist?
Responsible for direction and managing the day-to-day operations of the Financial Management Department which consists of Accounts Payable, Purchasing, Warehouse, Contracts, Budgets, Medical Billing and Accounts Receivable. Incumbent may serve as backup to Administrator.
How does it get done?
Oversees all the organization's financial activities such as budgets, contracts, cost reporting, revenue and expenditures, which require the manager to create financial policies and goals, reduce expenses and develop financial strategies. Handle the organization's financial statements, manage cash flows, prepare financial reports , process medical billing and manage various other tasks related to finance. Oversees staffing requirements, set employee goals and objectives and monitor staff performance including performance reviews.

Minimum Qualification
A Bachelor's degree in any field of study from an accredited college or university and five (5) years of professional level experience operating within parameters and guidelines directly related to the purpose of the position defined by the agency at the time of recruitment. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling nine (9) years may substitute for the required education and experience. A hiring agency will designate a portion of the required experience to include supervisory and/or specialized experience. Any required licensure, certification or registration shall be defined at the time of recruitment and will be in addition to the above requirements.
Employment Requirements
This position is designated a safety sensitive. Must successfully complete post offer preemployment criminal records background check is conditional pending results of criminal background check. Employment is subject to preemployment and random testing, in accordance with all terms and conditions of federal and state law, rules and regulations in relation to alcohol and/or drug testing. Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Successful completion of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
Working Conditions
Work is performed in a rehabilitation hospital setting. Exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Long periods of walking, sitting, standing, bending and lifting up to fifty (50) pounds may be required. Exposure to potentially violent patients in a volatile situation. May be required to work weekends, holidays and overtime. Some travel may be required.
