Why does the job exist?
The Financial Specialist III will:
Audit all invoices for the agency and enter payment vouchers into SHARE;
Process in-state and out-of-state travel;
Process journal voucher corrections , warrant cancellations and warrant releases;
Ensure that the Department of Finance and Admiinistration (DFA) Mileage and Per Diem Act, Model Accounting Practices (MAP's) and internal policies and procedures are adhered to.
How does it get done?
The Financial Specialist III is responsible for:
Auditing invoices and processing vouchers for:
Utilities, office supplies, office equipment, postage, professional services contracts, etc.
Employee travel reimbursements
Journal voucher process;
Warrant cancellations for all warrants;
Auditing warrant and payment information and processing cancellations in SHARE;
Warrant Release of:
K, L, P and Client Medical Travel (CMT) warrants series by verifying warrant numbers.
Who are the customers?
Administrative Services Division, all other divisional staff within Health Care Authority, other State agencies, and third-party vendors.
Ideal Candidate
Administrative Services Division, all other divisional staff within Health Care Authority, other State agencies, and third-party vendors.
Minimum Qualification
High School diploma or Equivalency and two (2) years experience in bookkeeping, accounting, and/or finance. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling two (2) years may substitute for the required experience.
Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain valid driver's license.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending and reaching may be required. Must be able to list 25 lbs. Some travel may be required.
