Why does the job exist?
Serves as the Board of Nursing's Human Resources Manager and performs the day-to-day duties such as processing personnel and position transactions; recruitment; on boarding; payroll; data entry into PeopleSoft/ SHARE system; employee relations; ensure compliance with Agency policies and State Personnel Board Rules; being familiar with benefits such as Public Employees Retirement Association (PERA) rules and processes; the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and Family Medical Act (FMLA).
How does it get done?
Process personnel and position transactions which include but are not limited to entering data in PeopleSoft/SHARE, processing evaluations, developing Agency Policies and Procedures, ensuring federal and state laws are followed and compliance with State Personnel Board Rules, processing payroll in adherence to Department of Finance and Administration (DFA) guidelines and deadlines, ensuring employees are paid accurately, preparing audit and payroll reports, managing job openings, completing new hire paperwork and providing new hire orientation, managing employee injuries and recording for Workers' Compensation and OSHA reports, conducting internal investigations and formulating disciplinary action documents.

- working with State Personnel Board (SPB) Rules.
- processing personnel and position actions, creating job postings, managing payroll, reporting workers' compensation injuries.

Minimum Qualification
Bachelor's Degree in any field and one (1) year of experience in human resource operations; recruitment, selection, payroll, compensation and benefits administration, labor relations, investigations, HR related training experience and/or occupational analysis. Substitutions apply.

Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver¿s License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive a Defensive Driving Course Certification within thirty (30) days of date of hire as a condition of continued employment.
Working Conditions
Office setting, exposure to VDT, extensive personal computer and phone usage. Services are provided to a diverse racial and ethnic population. Reaching and lifting up to fifty (50) pounds may be required. Travel to provide outreach and coverage to attend meetings and training sessions with the occasional overnight stay is required.
