The General Services Department (GSD) supports the operations of state government by providing essential services, including procurement, risk management, facilities management, transportation services, and printing services. The Human Resources Bureau (HRB) is responsible for managing employee relations, recruitment, training, compensation, benefits, and performance. HR supports the department in fostering a productive, inclusive, and compliant workplace while ensuring the well-being and development of its staff.

The Human Resource Associate will provide a variety of tasks that support the Human Resource Bureau (HRB). This position will be responsible for answering incoming phone calls and assisting walk-in customers, as well as assist with general HR related tasks such as recruitment, selection, payroll, compensation and benefits administration.

This position provides human resource operations assistance and advice to agency personnel with respect to interpretation of SPB Rules and Regulations and agency policies and procedures. In addition, the incumbent is responsible for:

Minimum Qualification
Associate degree in any field. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling two (2) years may substitute for the required education.
Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Drivers License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage with extended periods of sitting. Some standing, bending and reaching may be required.

- Maintain HR Record Management System with all pertinent information regarding Records and Archives.
- Provide human resource operations assistance to HR staff and state employees.
- Track and manage GSD's Employee/Manager Evaluations.
- Assist in processing personnel transaction via SHARE-HCM.
- Assist in processing FMLA requests in accordance with Federal, State, and agency guidelines within appropriate timeline.
