The General Services Department (GSD) supports the operations of state government by providing essential services, including procurement, risk management, facilities management, transportation services, and printing services. The Human Resources Bureau (HRB) is responsible for managing employee relations, recruitment, training, compensation, benefits, and performance. HR supports the department in fostering a productive, inclusive, and compliant workplace while ensuring the well-being and development of its staff.
Interviews are anticipated to be conducted within two weeks of closing date.

This position serves as Human Resource Generalist under the direction of the Human Resources Bureau for the General Services Department. The Human Resource Generalist manages and administers GSD'S payroll, benefits and associated actions within State Personnel Office and Department and Finance Administration and GSD rules and regulations to ensure that required time frames are met.

Minimum Qualification
Bachelor's degree in any field. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling four (4) years may substitute for the required education.
Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment.
Working Conditions
Work is performed primarily in an office setting at the Joseph Montoya Building with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Work extended hours and occasional travel may be required. Sitting/Standing, bending, squatting, climbing, and reaching for extended periods of time may be required.

- Provide human resources assistance to staff on payroll, benefits, and compensation.
- Audit bi-weekly payroll and associated actions for correct processing.
- Provide time entry technical assistance to program staff.
- Process TLVs, refunds, deductions, and manual warrant requests.
- Process on-boarding and off-boarding with applicable payroll and benefits processing and closure.
- Enter all HR transactions into SHARE-HCM.
- Serves as a liaison for the Department and Finance Administration for payroll.
