The agency's Workforce Technology Division (WTD) provides reliable, integrated and effective solutions to increase efficiency while providing a secure technology environment for employees and constituents. In addition, The WTD evaluates, procures, and implements appropriate technology tools to support agency goals as well as promoting continuous improvement in operations.
Candidates are required to submit to a pre-employment background check, which will include employment verification, criminal background check, and extensive reference check.

Agency data has been a critical asset requiring necessary attention as more efforts towards data-driven decision making in New Mexico gain momentum. There is an agency need on oversight in the methodology of how data assets are being maintained and shared requiring focused awareness on the topic. Due to the current and future focus on the departments valuable data, Workforce Solutions has an immediate need for a Data Steward position.
How does it get done?
The Data Steward works closely with technical and business staff to ensure the quality, integrity, and governance of data assets within the department through data profiling, data cleansing, management, and promoting a data-driven culture. Data Stewards are responsible for the analysis and assessment of agency data to ensure proper utilization and quality of all systems. The Data Steward works under general supervision, utilizes tools, and applies specialized skills to ensure the quality of data is at a high level and is accurately reported to constituents. Executing data related tasks includes programming, analysis, design, documentation, developing, implementing, modifying, and maintaining data assets of all agency systems and service programs.

Minimum Qualification
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Informatics, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field and two (2) years of experience in master data management, data analytics, data engineering, or a related area. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related f ield and/or direct experience in master data management, data analytics, or data engineering totaling six (6) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification within six (6) months of date of hire as a condition of continued employment.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Sitting for long periods of time viewing computer monitor. Repetitive hand movement. Standing, walking, lifting up to 25 lbs.
