Why does the job exist?
This position will conduct organizational studies and evaluations, design systems and procedures, conduct work simplifications and measurement studies, and prepare operations and procedure manuals to assist management in operating more efficiently and effectively.
How does it get done?
This position will be responsible for :
- Evaluating process flows to ensure work is completed on time and efficiently, and revises workflows if necessary
- Training and tracking employee performances by assigning and evaluating job tasks
- Promoting quality customer service by applying customer sensitivity practices
- Keeping up to date with Motor Vehicle Division (MVD) policies and procedures by accessing any changes in the MVD manual. Acts as a liaison to courts, law enforcement, and other government agencies
- Performing audits and verifies agent transactions and documents
- Reviewing and providing feedback on new policies and procedures
- Assisting with issuing licenses for new dealers, renewals, and cancellations
- Renewing new licenses packages
- Site visits
Who are the customers?
This position serves New Mexico taxpayers, Taxation and Revenue Department (TRD) employees and external state agencies.
Ideal Candidate
The Ideal candidate will have an Associate degree and (4) years' experience in finance or business management, to include administrative duties requiring analysis and implementation of business process improvements.
Minimum Qualification
Associate degree and two (2) years of experience in the procedures of business and management principles involved in strategic planning. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university and / or direct experience in this occupation totaling four (4) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification within six (6) months of date of hire as a condition of continued employment. Must be current with all tax reporting / payment. Employment is subject to post offer pre-employment criminal background check to include fingerprint checks and is conditional pending results.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual / Video Display terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and telephone usage with extended periods of sitting. Some standing, bending and reaching may be required. Must be able to lift 25 lbs. High pressure / stress situations. Some travel may be required.
