Why does the job exist?
The primary function of the position is to assist the constituents of New Mexico and surrounding States by answering phone calls and providing the best customer service possible. Constituents call into the Motor Vehicle Division Call Center for assistance in researching citations as well as to make payments for citations, we also run American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators (AAMVA) inquires for driver licenses and further research AAMVA holds, process and renew registrations, review payments made for drivers and vehicles, review emission suspensions and insurance suspensions. Performance shall be measured based on criteria that is job and outcome related with a minimum of 80 transactions a day completed based on volume, complexity, and system capabilities.

This position will be responsible for the following duties:
This requires understanding, interpretation, and implementation of federal law, state statutes and administrative code. Each transaction processed by our MVD agents require extensive understanding of the parameters that allow to get the credential needed so that they can skillfully relay the information back to our customers.
This position will be expected to deliver quality work, collaboration with the Motor Vehicle Division (MVD) management, co workers and the public in delivering quality transactions with proficiency and a sense of urgency.

Minimum Qualification
High school diploma or equivalent and six (6) months of general office, clerical, and/or administrative experience. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling six (6) months may substitute for the required experience.
Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification within six (6) months of date of hire as a condition of continued employment. Must be current with all tax reporting/payment. Employment is subject to post offer pre-employment criminal background check to include fingerprint checks and is conditional pending results.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and telephone usage with extended periods of sitting. Some standing, bending and reaching may be required. Must be able to lift 25 lbs. High pressure/stress situations. Some travel may be required.
