  • Why does the job exist?

    The Social & Community Services Coordinator III will :

  • Review Medicaid provider applications and registration requests ensuring accurate maintenance of provider files;
  • Contribute to the agency's overall success in assuring access to care for Medicaid recipients and compliance with federal and state regulations and requirements;
  • Assist with Medicaid provider enrollment / registration;
  • Review, approve or deny Provider Participation Agreements assuring compliance with federal and state regulations and requirements;
  • Update enrollment status of provider records according to approved or denied applications or registration requests reviewed by others in the Policy & Provider Services Bureau (PPSB) and fiscal agent;
  • Review reports and system issues to correct existing provider records;
  • Assist with various special projects and research as required based on Division needs as directed by the supervisor or bureau chief;
  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert and review Site Visit documents completed by the fiscal agent for new enrollment requests and revalidation / Turnaround Documents (TADs)
  • Tasks may include :
  • Review of various reports

  • Provider account audits
  • Analysis of system changes and assisting with testing before implementation
  • How does it get done?

    The Social & Community Services Coordinator III is responsible for :

  • Providing timely and accurate customer service pertaining to provider concerns;
  • Serving as subject matter expert and providing technical assistance to staff and managers related to Site Visits and general Provider Enrollment processes;
  • Reviewing accounts as directed by the Manager and providing feedback to the fiscal agent;
  • Assisting with research and testing of system changes for the Provider Enrollment system.
  • Who are the customers?

  • Medicaid recipients, providers, internal State staff and external partners.
  • Ideal Candidate

    The Ideal Candidate has :

  • Extensive knowledge of Federal and State regulations and requirements related to Medicaid services;
  • Experience proficiently working with Excel, Word and Share Point;
  • Experience researching and coordinating with external and internal partners;
  • Excellent customer service, communication and writing skills;
  • Experience being detail orientated to ensure quality work on a consistent basis;
  • Experience with tracking tools, such as Monday.com;
  • Experience being resourceful, motivated and flexible.
  • Minimum Qualification

    Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Guidance and Counseling, Education,

    Sociology, Criminal Justice, Criminology, and / or Family Studies / Services and four (4) years of any combination of experience including working with communities, working on health or social service related matters, social work / case management experience, behavioral health, and / or health care. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related

    field and / or direct experience in this occupation totaling eight (8) years may substitute for the required education and experience.

  • Education and years of experience must be related to the purpose of the position.
  • If Minimum Qualification requires a specific number of "semester hours" in a field (e.g. 6 semester hours in Accounting), applicants MUST have those semester hours in order to meet the minimum qualifications. No substitutions apply for semester hours.
  • Employment Requirements

    Must possess and maintain valid driver's license.

    Working Conditions

    Work is performed in an office setting : late hours and weekends work may be required. Will be exposed to regular periods of video display terminal and keyboard usage and stressful situations. Travel may be required. Incumbent will work under stress and frequent time constraints. Must have own mode of transportation. Incumbent may be required to furnish a personal vehicle for carrying out assignments.

    Bargaining Unit Position

    This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement and all terms / conditions of that agreement apply and must be adhered to.
