This position requires general knowledge of office practices and procedures to compile, review, verify, complete and record data for records and reports. Public contact is on a daily basis. Applicant must have excellent telephone etiquette and always demonstrate professional customer service skills. Duties involve working independently, problem solving, strong mathematical skills, establishing and updating records and reports, generating and monthly analysis of reports, and files maintenance and management. Employee will perform all other duties as assigned. Employee must perform work in accordance with NCDOT workplace and safety policy.
This position works out of the SOUTHPORT FERRY OPERATION and will work 7 days on – 7 days off.
Possession of a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) issued by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies

- Skilled in using Windows 7 (or greater), Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel, Outlook) and Internet Explorer.
- Experience in gathering and giving information and instructions.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and one year of administrative experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
