This position is located at Greene Correctional Institution and oversees the Inmate Trust Fund procedures for the facility. Duties of this position are to process the Daily Inmate Trust Fund actions for inmate accounts in the Inmate Banking System in OPUS, print checks, process daily bank deposits and prepare daily release funds and debit cards, process inmate requests which may include obtaining money orders and bus tickets. This position also processes DC-440's for Inmate Welfare Expenditures, This position is responsible for completing several reports and responding to inmate inquiries and grievances. This person must be able to work independently be able to meet constant deadlines while performing several tasks simultaneously. This person monitors the monthly telephone/cell phone bills for the facility and handles all GTL inquiries.  This position deals frequently with institutional staff regarding purchase orders and/or P-card purchases. This position has frequent contact with NCDPS staff relative to Inmate Trust Fund and with outside vendors regarding Purchase Orders, and P-Card purchases. This position must be able to communicate well and work well with staff at all levels. This position is the back up for the Accounts Payable clerk and will be involved in cross-training with this position to include but not limited to the NC E-Procurement system and NCAS system.Â

This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits

As of January 1, 2025, there are new increase adjustments to the state pay plan which were approved by the State Human Resources Commission, effective January 1, 2025. The new salary range will be $31,200 - $49,340. Prior applicants will remain under consideration and do no need to reapply.

If selected for this position, a new salary will be recalculated taking into consideration the quantity of relevant education and experience, funding availability, and internal equity. Based upon these factors, a pay increase MAY result.

The North Carolina Department of Adult Correction (DAC)is one of the largest state agencies with more than 19,000 employees. It is responsible for safeguarding and preserving the lives and property of its citizens through prevention, protection, and preparation as well as the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced after conviction for violating North Carolina laws. The Division of Institutions is one of the divisions in DAC and employs a variety of staff, operates 56 institutions and is responsible for the care and custody of approximately 30,000 incarcerated individuals across North Carolina. Our division categorizes the institutions into 3 custody levels, which include minimum, medium, and close.  The Division of Institutions has a duty to provide a secure and safe environment along with the proper care and supervision for every individual, in our custody.Â
