Description of Work
As of January 1, 2025, the new salary range will be $31,200 - $49,340.
This position is assigned to Pasquotank Correctional Institution. Provide clerical support in a correctional setting. Must be proficient in the use of all office machines, i.e. electronic typewriter, computer / computer programs, telephone, calculator, fax machine, copier, etc. Minimum typing speed of 45 wpm. Effectively communicate with other staff and members of the general public in verbal and written form and by using existing communication systems to covey and / or obtain information, instruction and direction. Work under occasional stressful conditions in meeting deadlines. Input and comprehend computer generated data. Review completed task to ensure accuracy and integrity of information. Effectively establish, develop and maintain a filing system that allows easy access. Be able to navigate in OPUS regarding inmates records. This job requires some interaction with offenders, physical effort to include walking, standing and normal office-type work.
This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits
