Description of Work

This position serves as the Farmland Preservation Program Specialist job function includes review, evaluation and appraisals, survey, environment documentation reports, and landowner action plans used to be ADFPTF (Agriculture Development and Farmland Preservation (ADFP) Trust Fund.)
in the approval process of grant administration and the legal documents are for the recording of the ADFPTF conservation easement. This position will work to implementation of farmland, forestry and working lands preservation programs and assists local governments, communities, non-profits, and other strategic partners with the grants and programs offered through the NCDA&CS Agriculture Development and Farmland Preservation (ADFP) Trust Fund.

- General knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- General knowledge of project management principles
- Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in applying interpreting policies and procedures.
- Ability to advise potential clients of protocols and procedures for the education, solicitation, and participation of farmers, ranchers, foresters of private landowners for agriculture / forestry conservation agreements and easements.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, officials and the public.
- Ability to advise, educate, solicit, and encourage farmers, ranchers, foresters, and private landowners in the use of research, best practices and regulations to preserve agricultural, horticultural and forestlands
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
You may qualify by an equivalent combination of education and experience, either through years of education or years of directly related experience, or a combination of both.
Bachelor s degree from an appropriately accredited institution; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
