What are the responsibilities and job description for the WICWS Regional Nurse Consultant position at State of North Carolina?
The primary purpose of the WICWS Regional Nurse Consultant position is to function as a consultant and educator for local health departments in all 100 counties and other divisions, agencies, and facilities that need clinical and/or nursing practice guidance in the areas of reproductive and perinatal health. The nurse consultant serves as a resource for all levels of personnel. The nurse consultant applies the principles of public health nursing, adult learning, management models and change theories, participates in the implementation of change and integration of practice, education and research related to evidence-based practice methodologies, and provides consultation to local health department staff and community agencies in North Carolina. The nurse consultant demonstrates professional leadership in the public health community and serves as an advocate for reproductive health issues throughout the life span.
The applicant must live in the Eastern region of the State as the focus of this assignment will include the provision of nursing consultation, training, and technical assistance in the counties of Bertie, Camden, Chowan, Currituck, Gates, Hertford, Pasquotank, Perquimans, Edgecombe, Halifax, Northampton, Martin, Washington, Tyrell, Dare, Wilson, Pitt, Beaufort, Hyde, Greene, Lenoir, Craven, Pamlico, Jones.

- Demonstrated experience in implementing current principles, standards, and practices of public health nursing.

- Experience working with health disparities in reproductive health service delivery.

Current experience working in a clinical public health setting.
Supervisory experience.
