What You'll Do:
This position Works under general supervision & requires considerable knowledge of criminal justice or Ohio’s adult rehabilitation & correction system in order to act for Warden by serving as institution’s STG Coordinator gathering intelligence.
- Conducts initial & ongoing interviews to determine inmate classification levels to identify gang affiliation (e.g., passive, active, & disruptive)
- Responds to possible STG incidents & informs Warden &/or staff of findings concerning STG activity
- Creates & maintains inmate records in DOTS Portal as it relates to gang activity (e.g., film, notes, pictures, updated classification levels)
- Implements & enforces STG policies & procedures institution wide.
- Serves as administrative liaison between Warden, Operation Support Center (OSC), STG Administrator, Legal Services & Bureau of Classification & staff
- Coordinates activities with Bureau of Classification (e.g., notifications of inmate activity to determine appropriate actions)
- Serves as institution STG Committee Chairperson & conducts monthly meetings to discuss STG activity
- Provides training & technical support for security staff
- Researches & responds to inquiries & complaints from general public & outside agencies
- Prepares reports, maintains & audits records according to department standards.
- Serves on institutional committees
- Assists in staff development & training
- Assists with investigations
- Conducts site visits
- Acts as duty officer as assigned
- Performs other duties as assigned
