The Administrative Operations team at the Ohio Department of Development is looking for a Facilities Coordinator. This key position supports the many offices and divisions of Development by:
- Processing, organizing, and disturbing incoming mail.
- Preparing outgoing mail.
- Lifting boxes/packages between 60-100 pounds.
- Tracking Development’s assets and other reports using appropriate computer software.
- Moving office furniture as needed.
- Monitoring/scheduling State vehicle repairs/maintenance.

Completion of associate core coursework in secretarial science or business office applications from accredited career school or community college. Valid driver's license.
- Or 18 months experience or 18 months training in secretarial/administrative professional field. Valid driver's license.
- Or 6 months experience as Administrative Professional 1, 16871. Valid driver's license.
Must be able to lift 60-100 lbs and demonstrate physical fitness. A lifting test will be administered as part of the interview process.
Preferred Qualifications:
Formal education in arithmetic to include fractions, decimals and percentages and in reading, writing and speaking English; 6 months training or 6 months experience in operation of truck and forklift; 3 months training. or 3 months experience in safety practices for moving heavy materials; 3 months. training or 3 months experience in inventory control.
-Or 4 months experience as Mover 1, 53831.
Knowledge of English grammar and composition; arithmetic that includes addition, subtraction, multiplication and division; records management; business communications; administrative practices & procedures*; general office practices and procedures; agency-specific office practices and procedures*; budgeting*; government structure & process*. Skill in keyboarding; business office software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office); operation of personal computer and office machines (e.g., transcribing equipment, calculators). Ability to deal with problems involving several variables within familiar context; apply principles to solve practical, everyday problems; interpret instructions in written or oral form; write routine business letters following standard procedures; compose directives, memos and other publications; complete routine forms or records; make appointments; arrange items in numerical or alphabetical order; move fingers easily to perform manual functions; assess questions and provide appropriate information or referral.

This position is located at the Ohio Department of Development, Vern Riffe building, 77 South High Street, Columbus, Ohio 43215
