Monitor agency participation in grant programs or monitor endowment of funds to qualified participants for adherence to contract &/or program rules & regulations:
Coordinates & monitors the Ohio State Highway Patrol's (OSHP) Grants Program; Researches grant opportunities & writes detailed project proposals for submission to granting agency; Monitors applications through approval process; Negotiates final contract with granting agency;
Serves as primary contact for organizations receiving &/or requesting grants administered by OSHP; Provides technical assistance &/or guidance;
Informs potential applicants about various programs & eligibility requirements; Assists applicants with developing grant program goals & objectives; Outlines policies & procedures relative to the use of grant funds;
Establishes the fiscal monitoring of approved grants to ensure quality assurance throughout all processes by reviewing available funds in compliance with state & federal procedures;
Conducts training on regulations, requirements, application procedures, &/or project administration;
Monitors & tracks grant expenditures; Prepares activity reports &/or billings.
Maintains all required records for grant compliance;
Assists in the development of policies & procedures relative to grants administration that align with state & federal guidelines;
Responds to inquiries from constituents, government officials & other external individuals;
Assists fiscal personnel with forfeiture funds.
Performs other related duties as assigned (e.g., special projects, training, administrative duties, assists with accounts receivable &/or accounts payable functions, etc.).
3 courses or 9 mos. exp. in contract & grant preparation;
AND 3 courses or 9 mos. exp. in accounting;
- Or 6 mos. exp. as Grants Coordinator 1, 63161.
- Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
UNUSUAL WORKING CONDITIONS
May require overnight travel.
This position may be filled by a layoff or certification eligibility list.
This position will be filled in accordance with the bargaining unit agreement if applicable.
