Assess & evaluate nursing & medical needs by delivery of health care services to clients on Living Area as ordered by physician: observes clients for signs of illness or injury; examines clients; checks vital signs; schedules physical examinations, lab, x-rays & assorted diagnostic studies (e.g., CAT Scan, Colonoscopy); confers with & assists physician on health & behavior problems; administers oral & parenteral medications as ordered by physician; assists with immunization programs; performs advanced nursing procedures, treatment & therapeutic activities; refers to various services (e.g., dentist, podiatrist, psychologist, E.N.T., dermatologist, ophthalmologist, Internal Medicine); assists in emergency room & Clinics as needed. Mandatory Overtime is Required of this Position.
Assists other staff by directing delivery of psychiatric & nursing care: monitors LPN’s in administration of medications; provides input in establishing Nursing policies & procedures; assists Director of Nursing in administrative matters concerning health care; helps the Infection Control Nurse with matters (e.g., in-services to Living Area staff on infection control issues, hand washing, catheter care, general refreshers; monthly infection & safety surveillance monitors on each Living Area). Completes & maintains notes, reports & forms: prepares nursing assessments; submits repair orders as necessary; orders medications for clients’ visits.
Maintains & orders drugs & supplies: orders drugs & office supplies; submits repair orders as necessary; orders medications for clients’ visits. Assists with preparation of education programs & attends meetings: participates as a member of interdisciplinary team at annuals & other team meetings; continuous education & in-service training for LPN’s & Living Area staff; counsels LPN’s in individual care & use of equipment; schedules special medical programs in Living Areas; attends staff & educational meetings.

Requires current license as registered professional nurse in state of Ohio as issued by Board of Nursing per Section 4723.03 of Revised Code.

$33.45 per hour with the first increase in 180 days to $35.07
- Additional $1.50 per hour shift differential for 2nd and 3rd shifts
- Additional $3.35 per hour for assigned 2nd and 3rd shift
- Additional hourly recruitment supplement $5.02 per hour
- Annual increases each year with an additional longevity supplement after 5 years of service
RNs can receive up to a 3% increase every July 1st per the current 1199 bargaining unit contract.
