About the Role
">This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize advanced technical and analytical experience in geospatial mapping for disaster preparation and recovery plans. As a Geospatial Analyst, you will work closely with the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA) team to design and create maps, charts, surveys, and applications using Esri ArcGSI and other GIS technologies.
">Key Responsibilities
">- Develop and maintain geodatabases and GIS data spatial repositories using geospatial data standards.
- Maintain geospatial data according to agency and security protocols, including cataloging, archiving, retrieving, integrating, reconciling, and distributing the data.
- Analyze data and resources to meet user requirements, evaluating and determining data collection, integration, and storage methods based on project objectives.
Requirements and Qualifications
">- One year of experience as a Geospatial Specialist 2 or two years of technical experience utilizing geospatial programs to capture, store, manipulate, analyze, maintain, and present geospatial data.
- Associate's degree in geographic information systems, geography, geospatial technology, cartography, computer science, natural science, or related STEM field, including or supplemented by six credits in geospatial coursework.
- Equivalent combination of experience and training, including or supplemented by six credits in geospatial coursework.
