THE POSITION

The Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA) is looking for a talented Plumber to join our Division of Installation Maintenance at Fort Indiantown Gap (FIG). In this critical role, you will be responsible for overseeing water control operations, including both aboveground and underground mains and lines, as well as fire hydrants across the installation. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this position, you will carry out a range of skilled and semi-skilled tasks related to plumbing operations throughout FIG. You will manage and complete plumbing projects of all sizes, including new construction, repairs, and maintenance of existing buildings and facilities. Your responsibilities will include installing, maintaining, repairing, and replacing water and sewer lines, as well as fire hydrants; conducting pressure tests; coordinating the winterization and de-winterization of buildings and facilities; performing water meter readings; installing and repairing kitchen and bathroom fixtures; and cutting, threading, and soldering pipes. While your work will be guided by general supervision, you will be expected to independently solve most operational challenges and maintain necessary administrative records as required by your tasks.

Work Schedule and Additional Information :
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 7 : 00 AM to 3 : 00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Salary : In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.
