What are the responsibilities and job description for the Adjunct Instructor - Welding position at State of South Carolina?
Denmark Technical College is looking to build an active pool of qualified applicants to teach courses within the Industrial and Related Technologies division.

Under the supervision of the Dean of Industrial and Related Technologies, this position performs classroom and laboratory instructional duties in the welding degree program. These duties may involve cross-discipline activities for common core classes related to welding. This position must be able to work a flexible schedule as dictated by the semester scheduling needs of the program on Denmark Tech campuses or designated High Schools.
Associate degree in Welding Technology (or equivalent) with five (5) years direct experience as a welder (valid/current credentials such as AWS CWI/CWE). Completion of a federally approved apprenticeship program will be considered with proper certifications. Or, Bachelor’s degree in a related field combined with the direct experience noted above would be acceptable. Knowledge and experience in welding theory, metallurgy, mathematics, blueprint reading, oxygen acetylene welding and brazing, The applicant may be required to demonstrate welding skills that meet ASME standards applicable to pipe welding in the nuclear industry.
Some level of teaching or training experience is preferred. The applicant must be able to work in a team environment utilizing effective communication skills. The applicant must also be able to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and be able to develop programs and curricula to meet industry needs.
