The Building Services Associate performs various duties related to custodial, housekeeping or groundskeeping to keep the building or grounds in a clean and orderly condition, as well as set-up for special events and rentals.

- Cleaning restrooms, galleries, classrooms, offices, hallways, lobbies, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, lounges, and other work areas, as assigned.
- Assisting with museum special events, as needed. This may include setting up and taking down tables and chairs; emptying trash containers; and cleaning areas before, after, and during events.
- Sweeping, scrubbing, mopping and polishing floors.
- Emptying wastebaskets. Transporting trash and waste to disposal area.
- Vacuuming and cleaning rugs and carpets.
- Dusting furniture and equipment.
- Polishing metalwork.
- Washing windows, door panels, and sills.
- Cleaning bathrooms and replenishing supplies.
- Assists with the cleaning and managing of school lunch programs.
- Performs general guest services.
- Performs other related duties, as necessary.
High school diploma
- 1-2 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be able to operate cleaning equipment, such as scrubbers and carpet cleaners.
- Must be able to access storage areas and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Able to stand and walk for up to an hour at a time.
- Weekdays, nights, and weekends required.
- Ability to follow instructions.
Customer service experience.
- Knowledge of how to properly carry out custodial, housekeeping or grounds keeping tasks.
- Knowledge of cleaning and disinfection practices, including MSDS and OSHA regulations. Prior knowledge of cleaning products and disinfection materials helpful.
- Knowledge of heavy cleaning machinery.
- Ability to keep accurate written records.
