Job Responsibilities

Join South Carolina state government where you can have a meaningful career, incomparable benefits, and a positive work-life balance! In this position you will be responsible for the following :

  • Manage and coordinate requests for policy exceptions and guidance from local field offices as assigned.
  • Serve as liaison with Legal, Safety, and Risk Management regarding cases that are sensitive in nature. Direct service on select consumers.
  • Develop and implement field training to address WIOA, 911 and process simplification changes. Schedule and conduct quarterly ACSM meetings / webinars. Update all Consumer Services related information on the agency Intranet. Serve as liaison at the state level to DDSN and assist Area Supervisors in developing relationships with local providers.
  • Assist Consumer Services staff with responding to difficult cases. Conduct case management services to blocked cases or job retention (JRS) cases. Serve as back up for revolving fund approvals and procurement requests.
  • Serve as the point of contact to IT for CMS updates / project simplification and changes required by new regulations and RSA 911 changes.
  • Assist in the ongoing collaboration between Quality Assurance, Consumer Services, and the Policy and Internal Control units to ensure that individual, area, and statewide compliance occurs as outlined by agency and federal regulations.
  • Serve as a trainer in rotation with other staff providing Consumer Services Training to new staff.
  • Assist in projects and tasks as assigned by the Director of Consumer Services.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

  • Master's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, Psychology, Education; or a Bachelor's degree in a related field and at least 2 years of related experience.
  • If invited to interview, please obtain your Official 10 year driving record from the Department of Motor Vehicles to bring with you. Official transcripts will be required to verify college degree.
