Job Summary
This is a full-time faculty position in the Associate of Arts & Sciences Division at Denmark Technical College. The successful candidate will teach courses in early childhood development and education.
The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in Early Childhood Development and Education or a related field, with 18 graduate semester hours in the subject area. Three years of college-level teaching experience are preferred. Knowledge of principles and procedures pertaining to higher education, especially teaching methodologies, is essential.
Responsibilities include:
- Instructing students in early childhood development and education courses;
- Developing and maintaining course documentation;
- Maintaining audio-visual and other materials for courses taught through any medium;
- Scheduling classes and lab time effectively;
- Providing students with course syllabi, grading/attendance policies, and other relevant information in a timely manner;
- Relating instructional practical examples and illustrations;
- Following acceptable department and college grading policies;
- Maintaining required office hours and publicizing them; referring students to other persons for assistance; meeting with students in a timely manner; displaying sensitivity to students' needs and problems;
- Assisting with recruitment as required; assisting with job/placement recommendations as required;
- Cooperating with or participating in projects/activities of other instructional and support areas in fulfillment of the colleges' mission;
- Serving on college/community committees.
Additional requirements include:
A valid driver's license is required. May be required to teach evening courses and additional hours during peak registration periods.
