The person in this position will provide direction, oversight, and approval of the curriculum planning, design and development process, including the on-going review and revision of existing courses and the development of new courses to meet the needs of schools and students; ensure that the curriculum meets state academic standards and national standards of quality online course design. Oversee the Curriculum staff recruitment and on boarding. Supervise and evaluate all curriculum development staff and the instructional design team; conduct annual evaluations using the Employee Performance Management system. Recommend opportunities for the team's professional growth and development. Keep abreast of new developments and research in online education and share this information with the team. Work with the Technology Manager to ensure that the Learning Management System (LMS) and other content delivery systems are properly configured for optimal online course delivery. Utilize data for program planning and improvements in curriculum and student achievement; implement changes in curriculum and course design based on the data collected. Other duties as assigned by the Director.This position is located in the Office of VirtualSC.
