Under limited supervision of the Assistant Director of Awarding and Customer Service, responsibilities for maintaining documentation related to federal verification requirements. Oversee one or more specific financial aid programs and/or service areas. Ensure timely and compliant processing and reporting of all aspects of financial aid programs and/or service areas. Maintain files in compliance with federal, state, and institutional guidelines. Assist in audits and program reviews as needed. Provide research assistance on financial aid regulations and provide recommendations regarding policy and compliance.
This position requires a bachelor’s degree and financial aid experience. Equivalencies may be considered. Preferred candidate will have a bachelor's degree plus one (1) year related financial aid experience. Preferred candidates will have knowledge and skills in automated processing, data management systems, and process efficiency. Knowledge of financial aid regulations, procedures, and eligibility requirements is essential. Candidate must be able to read, comprehend, and comply with federal and state laws, regulations, and policies pertaining to the administration of student financial aid, interact effectively as a team member, and work collaboratively with other departments. The successful candidate will work effectively with various constituencies in a diverse community. Must be self-motivated, have exceptional organizational and time management skills, and manage multiple priorities while exercising sound judgment and discretion. Possess excellent customer service, public speaking, and oral and written communication skills. Proficiency in MS Office applications and social media marketing is highly desired. The ability to speak conversational Spanish is a plus.
