What are the responsibilities and job description for the Financial Aid Counselor position at State of South Carolina?
Serves as a Financial Aid contact for CCC/UCC. Counsel applicants, students, and parents on the financial aid process, FAFSA completion, verification, required documents, and financial aid awards. Responsible for conducting FAFSA workshops.
Assists current and new students in the completion of the FAFSA, required paperwork, and financial aid file completion, develops communication plans to increase FAFSA completion.
Greets, determines needs, and assists student coming to Student Services for financial aid support by providing information, appropriate paperwork, or connection to a counselor.
Conducts FAFSA workshops at local high schools and special events in Cherokee and Union Counties.
Serves as the liaison between students, FA, and admissions.
Responsible for the collection and initial data entry of documents received. Bachelor’s Degree and financial aid experience. • Higher education experience in the area of Student Services. • Sales and marketing background.
