This position is located at the Department of Mental Health, Waccamaw Center for Mental Health, 164 Waccamaw Medical Park Drive, Conway, SC 29526.

Responsibilities for this Position Title include but are not limited to:
Under general supervision of the Billing Coordinator, will submit monthly billing to Medicare & Medicaid Insurance and Self Pay accounts for Waccamaw Center for Mental Health located in the Conway Billing Office, Horry County.
WCMH is comprised of four community mental health clinical locations in Horry, Georgetown and Williamsburg counties.
Complete monthly billing, which may consist of Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care insurance and self-pay accounts.
Ensures accurate posting of payments to appropriate client accounts.
Reconciled payments posted monthly, research and resolved outstanding claims.
Assist the billing coordinator in problem solving and troubleshooting billing issues and CIS (Client Information System) maintenance.
Assists with staff training regarding billing issues.
Will adhere to all SCDMH, WCMH, Federal, State, Local, Quality Assurance, Corporate and CARF standards.
Preferred knowledge of third-party payor systems and their requirements, particularly as they apply to state agencies.
Knowledge of office policies, procedures, rules, regulations and general office equipment.
Knowledge of accounting/bookkeeping principles and practices.
Good organization and customer relations skills.
Must be able to communicate effectively with staff and clients verbally and in writing.
Employee must be able to work with limited supervision, organizing, implementing and prioritizing work functions.
Supervision will be provided by WCMH Administrative Manager and Billing Coordinator.
Annual EPMS (Employee Performance Management System) is in place and part of evaluation process.
Some travel may be required for trainings, workshops and the like.
Position does require sitting, standing, bending, filing and lifting up to 20 pounds.
State Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma and experience in entry level accounting or bookkeeping. A bachelor's degree may be submitted for required work experience.

**Please note having current or past experience working in a medical/mental health setting involving billing, customer service and knowledge of various insurance carriers and payment operations is needed to fill this position. **
Bilingual abilities in Spanish (or another language) are a plus.
Prior work experience in a medical setting involving billing is preferred.
