Our Grants Accountant serves within the DEW Finance Department. Finance is responsible for the agency’s annual financial reporting which consists of the audited financial statements for the UI trust fund and the agency wide audited financial statements. Agency bookkeeping and grant reporting to the US Department of Labor (DOL) and other grantors is performed by the finance department.
The Grants Accountant manages grants in DEW Finance, overseeing grant monitoring, compliance, accounting, and financial reports. They provide problem resolution and finance management support to meet department goals. The ideal candidate should have knowledge of accounting, budgeting, grants, financial management, and can interpret and analyze financial data. They should also establish relationships with grant recipients, apply mathematical concepts, and communicate effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the primary accounting function for all the grant monitoring administration, compliance, grant accounting, and financial reports of the awarded grants through their final closing.
- Provide problem resolution and assist finance management in completing other job-related tasks as directed to meet department goals and objectives.
- Create and prepare financial reports and statements as needed under the direction and at the discretion of the Budget and Grants Director for internal and external purposes.
- Maintain accounting records including reconciliation for designated federal programs.

Education and Experience
Bachelors in Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance and at least three years of grants experience.
Additional Requirements
Knowledge of the principles, practices, theories, and terminology of accounting, budgeting, grants and/or financial management. Ability to interpret and analyze financial data, records, and reports. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with grant sub-recipients and with federal, state, and local agencies. Ability to proficiently apply mathematical concepts. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.Experience in SCEIS, BEX, and BOBJ reporting.Supplemental questions are considered part of your official application. Salary : $46,655 - $86,321
