Under the general supervision of the Midlands Health Region Immunization Compliance Unit Manager, the Immunization Compliance Coordinator will manage, assist with staff development, provide orientation, quality assurance, coordinate outreach activities, performance improvement, and customer service within the Immunization Program. As a member of the health region immunization team the Coordinator will ensure all federal and state requirements of the Immunization Program are met, effectively representing the Department of Public Health (DPH), as a knowledgeable resource for immunizations and vaccine preventable diseases to assist health care providers, schools, day care facilities and other pertinent community agencies.
Job Functions and Responsibilities:
-Assist the Regional Immunization Program Manager to develop, implement, coordinate, and evaluate short and long range program goals.
-Act as a regional resource for the state Immunization Information System (IIS) that will provide support and training with staff utilizing the system.
-Prepare and or renew Memorandum of Agreements and Immunization Contracts with community partners tp interpret policy and procedures working and partnering with regional and county personnel.
-Oversee the planning and coordination of communities and school vaccine clinics; provide guidance of current Immunization Program policies and procedures to ensure all are implemented within specified time frames in clinic sites.
-Assist with training and orientation of support staff.
-Assist with quarterly immunization documentation, and auditing within regional health departments.
Emergency Preparedness:
Participate in disaster preparedness during hazardous weather of declaration of emergency as outlined in DPH emergency plans to include staffing of shelters on site or in other areas of the state.
State Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and relevant program experience.
Institutions of Higher Learning must be recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.

Agency Additional Requirements: This position requires a current driver's license or ability to obtain transportation; may be required to use a personal vehicle if state car is not available; travel to regional health departments, community vaccine clinic sites and to Columbia as needed; periodic overnight and extended travel may be required; requires the ability to bend, stoop and lift up to, thirty (30) lbs; required to respond in emergency disaster situations per state, agency, program guide; proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Driving Record: If this position requires the applicant to possess a valid driver’s license to operate a state vehicle or personal vehicle, any applicant being considered in the final stages of selection for the position will be required to provide a certified copy of a 10-year driving record.

All new employees who are healthcare providers will be required to provide documentation of immunity or be immunized against measles, mumps, rubella, pertussis, varicella, and Hepatitis B prior to beginning employment.
